About
What is the 'Shonkyf1' game?
It's free to play (which means there's no prize other than the love and admiration of all your friends) and all you have to do is 'hire' two drivers and an engine from a real life line up.
You can choose to hire them for a number of races, the more races you hire them for the cheaper they get.
The prices will change throughout the season depending on how many other fantasy teams have selected them.
Features:
- Design your own car livery! (this, I think, is the most popular feature)
- Buy and sell drivers and engines throughout the season (except on race weekends)
- Driver and engine prices change after every race based on popularity amongst your fellow managers
View the current going rate for all the drivers and teams
- Build your own Technical Centre to improve the performance of your team, selecting from upgrades such as a rolling road for your engine or a gym for your driver
Points are scored according to the current Grand Prix system (ie 25 for 1st, 18 for 2nd etc); this makes it relatively easy to work out your points after a race
What makes this game shonky?
I made it.
But more than that I made it particularly quickly. And I am, by no means, a web designer/programmer/scripter, so if you find something that doesn't work properly, please let me know and I'll try and fix it.
Other than that, please enjoy playing my game!

Without wanting to sound like an Oscar winner’s speech, I’d like to thank (in no particular order. Except the first one):
The Wife – For being (mostly) patient with my seemingly endless hours spent in front of a PC while I claimed to be putting this together.
Ad – For generating ideas and testing bits of website as they became available
Mr Fraz – For testing most of website, and doing a damned fine job (anything that goes wrong was changed after he’d checked it and said it was OK).
The Boy Henry – For receiving a barrage of incomprehensible emails about web design and not complaining.
Jon - For receiving a barrage of incomprehensible emails about F1 and not complaining. |
